HOW TO SELECT THE RIGHT CONTROL VALVES

Image
The Valve Industry is a highly complex application-oriented one where the navigating of the feasible technology options are just the starting point.  Even the valves specification has become a complex job to do. Augmenting the specification by a proper approach to emissions compliance, digitalization along with other regulatory standards is a constantly evolving criteria. Fevisa, one of the leading  valve manufacturers  and  valve suppliers , are experts in proper control valve selection guidance. Now let us discuss how the control valve selection needs to be done as guided by our experts. The Control Valve :  The control valves play an important role in establishing and maintaining an efficient process. When selecting control valves, it’s advisable to be sure to evaluate how the valve’s features match the application’s requirements in terms of connectivity for remote monitoring, stable flow control, versatility and ability to handle a range of flows. Working: ...

HOW DO FLOATING BALL VALVES WORK?

Image
Floating ball valve uses a ball as the formation to prevent the flow of liquid and to shut the cross-section of the pipe. The main characteristic of a floating ball valve is, the ball has no definite structure to support it and it remains dangled in the fluid while the valve seats are static. There are different standards available in floating ball valves some are, Design standard API 608, Test standard API 598, Fire Standard API 607, etc. CATEGORIZATION: Floating ball valve is categorized by, One-piece floating ball valve: One-piece floating ball valve and flange gate valve are the same type of valve but the difference exists in the closing part only. A sphere is used in one piece ball valve facilitating its rotation around the centerline of the body. The ball valve is mainly used to shut off, dispense and change the direction of the medium in the pipeline. Two-piece floating ball valve: Two-piece floating ball valve has two parts one is on the left and another is on the right, ...

SELECTION METHOD OF GLOBE VALVES

Image
Introduction: The globe valve, as the name suggests is a linear motion valve with a round globular shaped body which is commonly known as a form of mechanism that is used mainly to impede or regulate the flow of gas or liquid within a pipe. It has a seat that is well structured right in the middle and in turn parallel towards the pipe which has the opening enclosed by using a disc. The globe valve has a plug that is connected to a stem that functions by means of a screw action in the manual valves. Control Method: The globe valve has a disk that opens completely or closes completely the flow path. This action is done in a perpendicular movement to that of the disk away from the seat. The circular space present between the disk and seat ring gradually changes in order to facilitate the fluid flow through the valve. When the fluid travels through the valve it changes the direction many times while increasing the pressure as well. Generally, these valves are fitted with a stem verti...

TYPES OF GATE VALVES & INDUSTRIAL USES

Image
Gate valve is primarily used for the fluid pipeline, it functions by uplifting the gate out of the path, it is a linear motion valve,   used to start or stop the flow of fluid, and these valves are either in a fully open or fully closed position. Gate valve is also known as sluice valve.   Valve manufacturers   design most of valves as on-off types. We can classify the gate valves in three ways, 1.Types of Disc 2.Types of Body Bonnet joint 3.Types of Stem movement TYPES OF GATE VALVES PARALLEL GATE VALVES: Parallel Gate valves are designed for isolation and transmission of flow in a piping system it can be used to control the flow of gas can be furnished in high differential pressures, it is mainly used in the oil and gas industries. These valves have slide disc with parallel gates faced like a blockage member, the block age member has either a single disc or two discs with a mechanism to spread in between. In the case of a single disc, the force that is given to t...

Global Valve Vs Gate Valves

Image
Globe valves and Gate valves both belong to the most common valves that are used in industrial plants since  both are designed by the  Valve Manufacturers  in such a way that they keep the systems running as efficiently and safely as possible. They have their unique designs which primarily help facilitate their own applications. Globe Valves : The Globe valves are a member of the linear motion valve family which are designed for many industrial applications, including the oil and gas industry. These valves are similar to the gate valves and a use linear motion for the throttle flow. Its functions include start and stop of media as well as regulate the flow it within the pipe. Owing to their design i.e. made with a spherical body and a disc they provide a tighter seal with maximum leakage stopping. The  Global Valve Supplier  often prefer these valves as they are perfectly suitable for applications where the main concerns are safety and leaks. A superior ad...

Difference between Plug Valve and Ball Valve

Plug valve: Plug valves, refer to valves that are straightway which can be opened and closed rapidly. The plug valve is a simple structure which smaller in size and is widely used in a small diameter, low pressure and low/medium temperature situations.  They usually work for the media which has suspended particles present since between the valve plugs and the sealing surfaces there lies a friction which can cause complete avoidance of contact with the flow media when the valves are fully opened. A single plug valve that can be connected to two to five flow channels thus simplifying the design of pipeline systems by decreasing the required amount of the valve in the pipeline systems and reducing the need of other connection fittings facilities. Ball valve: Ball valves are generally considered as an improvement of plug vales. They belong to the same valve type as plug valve. The ball valve differs from the plug since it adopts the ball as its disc instead of the plug which ...

PLUG VALVES AND ITS APPLICATIONS

Image
The Plug Valve is a control device designed to regulate the flow of a gas or liquid within a high-pressure structure also for controlling the flow via moderate throttling, these valves are used in on/off position else to divert flow or combine flow. Plug valves are the vital part of a hydraulic system whic h   works to keep the entire system function efficiently.   Valve Manufacturers   usually prefer cylindrical or conical design. Present inside the valve is one or more hollow chambers that basically allow flow through the valve when opened since they are most commonly a double port system with an open position that allows for the flow, and a closed position to stop the flow. FEVISA   Plug Valves   are manufactured as per the industry standards and all Valves are  UL FM Approved Valves , that are of perfect design and functionality. Types : Designs Short Pattern Regular Pattern Venturi Pattern Based on Ports i. Double Port (Two Port) Valves A double port v...
